Must-Have Accessories for Your Young Boats Angling Adventure

Ready to set sail on your first adventure aboard your new Young Boats center console angling boat? We have a few items that every angler needs on their fishing excursion. The last thing you want is to be out on the water and realize you are missing a key item or something that would make your trip more enjoyable.

Fishing Apparel:

  1. Hat

    • To help keep the top of your head from getting sunburned.

  2. Pants

    • To protect your legs from bugs, depending on where and when you go fishing.
  3. Jacket or Vest with an assortment of pockets

    • This will allow you to store some essential tools and equipment on you so that you can grab the item you need quickly.
  4. Windbreaker

    • To help keep you warm when scouting out your next fishing location.
  5. Extra pair of clothes

    • This will give you the opportunity to change if you end up getting soaked or if you want to change into a fresh outfit before driving home.
  6. Towel

    • So you can dry off before changing.

Angler Accessories:

It is important to plan for what type of fish you plan on catching and how you will achieve your goals. There are specific rods, reels, lines, and bait depending on what you are wanting to catch on your trip.

  1. Bring a few rods just in case something happens to your main rod.
  2. Bring back up spools of line.
  3. A set of hooks, sinkers, swivels, and corks. Things happen, better to be over-prepared.
  4. If you are using live bait, do not forget your buckets and coolers. However, if you have a Young Boat, you may not need an extra cooler or bucket. Check out our boat layout options here. Most of our boats have baitwells, release wells, and more!
  5. If you are using artificial lures, bring extras.
  6. Tools you might need on the water. For example long-nose pliers, knives, and a tape measurer.
  7. A fishing net to help you scoop up your catch of the day.
  8. Ice to keep your fish fresh.

The Basics:

  1. First Aid Kit
  2. Fishing License
  3. Waterproof Bag for essentials like phone, wallet, etc.
  4. Map
  5. Sunscreen
  6. Sunglasses
  7. Insect Repellent
  8. Flashlight
  9. Safety Whistle
  10. Life Jackets
